This Is What Summer Should Feel Like
Summer Camp is active, hands-on, and outdoors.
Camp days may include animals, outdoor learning, farm projects, agriculture, practical skills, nature, and seasonal activities.
Activities vary based on season, weather, animal needs, current farm projects, and age and group needs.
What Campers May Do
Campers may spend their week:
Animals & Care
Caring for animals and creating animal enrichment.
Farm Skills & Projects
Learning farm skills and completing projects.
Nature & Agriculture
Exploring nature, gardening, and learning about agriculture.
Exploration & Play
Playing outdoor games, working together, getting dirty, and trying something they have never done before.
It is not about filling every minute with entertainment.
There is room to explore, notice, participate, and become part of the rhythm of the farm.
Camp Changes With the Farm
No two weeks at Hidden Pastures are exactly alike.
We build each week around meaningful activities while leaving room for campers to experience what is really happening on the farm.
Specific activities or animal interactions cannot be guaranteed.
Learn With the Herd
Campers may have opportunities to spend time around many of the animals who call Hidden Pastures home, including horses, miniature horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, cattle, pigs, chickens and ducks, rabbits, and other farm animals.
Activities may include animal care, observation, grooming, enrichment, learning about behavior, or other appropriate interactions.
Animal participation always depends on health, comfort, weather, and the needs of the farm.
Real Skills Come From Real Experience
Summer Camp gives kids opportunities to practice skills without sitting at a desk.
They may build:
Responsibility & Independence
Practice taking responsibility, building confidence, and working independently.
Communication & Cooperation
Practice communication, cooperation, and patience with others.
Awareness & Problem-Solving
Practice observation, decision-making, problem-solving, and practical farm skills.
Learning happens naturally because campers are doing something that matters.
Come Ready to Get Dirty
Summer Camp takes place on a real working farm, and campers should expect Texas heat, dirt, dust, mud, animals, uneven ground, and outdoor activity.
Campers should arrive each day prepared for the weather and current farm conditions.
