Supporting Access to Farm Programs Without Barriers
The Hidden Pastures Access Fund exists to help ensure that kids, teens, and families can participate in farm programs regardless of financial circumstances.
This fund reduces barriers quietly and respectfully — without requiring families to explain, justify, or relive difficult experiences.
Access is part of how we operate, not an exception.
What the Access Fund Is
The Access Fund provides partial or full support for participation in select Hidden Pastures programs, including:
- Farm Club
- Seasonal Camps
- Youth and adolescent programs
- Other farm-based experiences as available
The fund does not create separate programs.
It supports access to the programs already offered on the farm.
How the Access Fund Works
We believe access should be:
- straightforward
- dignified
- low-pressure
Families may request support during enrollment or by reaching out privately. There are no applications that require detailed personal stories or documentation.
Support may include:
- reduced program fees
- flexible payment options
- partial or full coverage when available
Requests are handled with discretion and care and are based on available funds and program capacity.
Priority Populations
While the Access Fund exists to reduce barriers broadly, it is intentionally designed to prioritize populations most closely aligned with the mission of Hidden Pastures.
Priority consideration is given to:
- Veterans and active-duty military families
- First responders
- Adolescents impacted by trauma
- Youth involved in foster care or kinship care
These populations often face unique barriers to accessing consistent, skill-building, relationship-based experiences and are central to why Hidden Pastures exists.
Prioritization helps ensure the Access Fund is used responsibly and sustainably.
Who the Access Fund Is For
The Access Fund is intended for families who:
- are experiencing temporary or ongoing financial strain
- would benefit from farm programs but face cost barriers
- value structure, consistency, and meaningful experiences with animals
Support is not guaranteed and depends on available funds, but requests are always welcome.
Why the Access Fund Matters
Access to meaningful experiences with animals, land, and community should not be limited by income alone.
The Access Fund helps:
- keep programs inclusive
- support kids and teens who benefit from structure and routine
- ensure financial barriers don’t become participation barriers
By offering access thoughtfully, Hidden Pastures can remain both values-driven and sustainable.
How You Can Support the Access Fund
The Access Fund is supported through:
- community donations
- Goat Grams
- animal sponsorships
- special events and fundraisers
Donations of any size directly support access for kids, teens, veterans, and families.
A Note on Sustainability
We balance access with care for:
- our animals
- our staff
- our program capacity
Offering access responsibly ensures Hidden Pastures can continue serving the community for years to come.
