FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Wylie, TX – October 10th, 2025
Hidden Pastures, a Wylie-based nonprofit farm dedicated to supporting mental health and wellness through animal-assisted programs, is proud to announce the donation of two handcrafted benches built and funded by local Girl Scouts Troop 6947.
The benches were designed, built, and finished by the scouts as part of a community service initiative to support Hidden Pastures’ mission of providing a place of healing and connection for veterans, first responders, trauma survivors, and families with special needs. The benches will serve as a welcoming space for visitors and participants to rest, reflect, and enjoy the peaceful farm environment.
“We’re incredibly grateful to Troop 6947 for their generosity and hard work,” said Brian Heid, Director of Operations at Hidden Pastures. “These benches represent more than a project—they symbolize the spirit of community and compassion that makes our mission possible.”
The donation was celebrated with a small gathering at Hidden Pastures, where the scouts presented their work and learned more about the farm’s equine-assisted learning programs.
Hidden Pastures continues to partner with schools, organizations, and volunteers across the community to create experiences that bring healing through connection with animals, nature, and one another.
