Eagle Scout Grant Fentress Builds Picnic Tables for Hidden Pastures Nonprofit Farm

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Wylie, TX – August 7th, 2025

Hidden Pastures, a local nonprofit serving veterans, first responders, and families with special needs through equine-assisted learning and animal therapy, proudly recognizes Grant Fentress of Boy Scout Troop #78 for his outstanding Eagle Scout project.

As part of his path to Eagle Scout, Grant designed and built four custom picnic tables for the farm, creating new gathering spaces for guests and families participating in therapeutic and community programs. His project not only filled a practical need but also deepened the farm’s capacity to host group activities, events, and moments of rest for those it serves.

What made Grant’s contribution even more impactful was the initiative he took beyond the build. He led fundraising efforts to cover material costs and presented his project before the Wylie Chamber of Commerce—demonstrating leadership, communication, and a genuine commitment to serving others.

“Grant’s dedication and professionalism were evident from the beginning,” said Brian Heid, Director of Operations at Hidden Pastures. “He didn’t just build tables—he built connections in the community and left a lasting impact on our mission.”

Located at 1512 Elm Dr. in Wylie, Hidden Pastures offers animal-based therapy and learning opportunities that support healing and resilience. The organization welcomes community involvement and celebrates local youth like Grant who give back in meaningful ways.
