About Us

At Hidden Pastures, we believe that everyone has the innate power to heal, grow, and transform. Founded by Brian Heid and Allie Seay, we are a nonprofit organization committed to supporting mental health and wellness through holistic, trauma-informed practices. Our work is rooted in the understanding that healing is not just a process; it’s a journey toward self-discovery, empowerment, and peace.

Our Story

Hidden Pastures is our sanctuary—a place of peace, connection, and healing. It was born out of our personal journey through challenges, resilience, and growth. As a blended family of six, we’ve faced trauma, navigated major life transitions, and learned the importance of reconnecting with ourselves and the world around us.

Through moments spent with animals and in nature, we found solace and strength. From the quiet grounding of caring for our first backyard chickens to the transformative experience of equine therapy, these simple yet profound connections showed us the path to healing.

We created Hidden Pastures to share this sanctuary with others. Here, you’ll find a space where you can slow down, reconnect, and rediscover your own inner resilience. Whether you’re seeking personal growth, peace, or a deeper connection with yourself and those around you, we invite you to join us. Hidden Pastures is more than a place—it’s a community where healing and hope take root.

Meet the Founders

Allie Seay

Allie is a U.S. Army veteran who served at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. She is a certified Trauma and Equine Learning Coach, a mother of two daughters, and a 13-year domestic violence survivor. Allie’s experiences have given her a deep understanding of trauma and healing. She is passionate about helping others find their way to self-discovery and peace, with a focus on understanding the nervous system and its vital role in emotional regulation.

Allie also specializes in working with individuals who are neurodivergent, including those with ADHD and autism. Her compassionate approach and personal experience allow her to create a supportive and empowering environment for those navigating the unique challenges of neurodiversity.

Brian Heid

Brian is a U.S. Marine veteran with a deployment to Iraq. A father of two wonderful girls, he is a skilled homesteader who can often be found chopping wood, building enclosures, or refining our online presence. His military background and personal journey have instilled in him a commitment to helping others find strength and healing through hard work, connection, and community.

Brian is also neurodivergent, giving him a firsthand understanding of the struggles of masking and navigating relationships. His openness about his experiences fosters an environment of authenticity and acceptance, making him a valuable guide for those seeking to embrace their true selves.

Together, we bring a unique blend of military discipline, personal resilience, and a deep love for animals and nature to every program and interaction at Hidden Pastures.

Why We Exist

We know firsthand the barriers to seeking help for mental health—financial burdens, social stigma, and the fear of being labeled as broken. But we are not broken, and neither are you. We all have adaptations that can work for or against us, and the power to change is within us all. Hidden Pastures exists to help you access that power and find the peace you deserve.

Join Us on the Journey

At Hidden Pastures, we believe in creating a space where healing feels natural, connection comes easily, and hope thrives. Whether through our equine-assisted programs, workshops, or family-focused initiatives, we invite you to join us in discovering the transformative power of animals, nature, and community.
