1:1 Farm-Based Coaching for Kids & Teens

Individual Support Through Animals, Movement, and Skill-Building

(Ages 18 & under)

Hidden Pastures offers individual, farm-based coaching sessions for kids and teens who benefit from personalized support outside of a group setting.

These sessions are designed for youth who learn best through movement, animals, and real-world experiences — not sitting still or talking across a desk.

This is not riding lessons or therapy.
It’s individualized, skill-based support grounded in relationship, regulation, and everyday farm life.

Who This Is For

1:1 Farm-Based Coaching is a good fit for kids and teens who:

  • struggle in group settings
  • are neurodivergent (including ADHD, autism, or sensory differences)
  • need support with regulation, communication, or confidence
  • learn best through hands-on, movement-based experiences
  • feel more comfortable alongside animals

Sessions are tailored to the individual child. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

What Sessions Are Like

Sessions take place on the ground, using animals and the farm environment as partners in learning and regulation.

Activities may include:

  • animal care and interaction
  • learning farm and animal skills
  • body awareness and proximity work
  • movement and proprioceptive activities
  • building verbal and non-verbal communication
  • quiet conversation while working side-by-side

Some kids talk a lot.
Some talk very little.
Both are okay.

Our Approach

Sessions are:

  • individualized and child-led within clear structure
  • grounded in safety, routine, and predictability
  • responsive to sensory and nervous system needs
  • focused on practical skills and confidence

Riding is not the focus of these sessions.

Parent Communication & Check-Ins

Parents are part of the process.

  • Initial intake helps determine fit and goals
  • Periodic check-ins share observations and progress
  • Communication focuses on skills and regulation, not diagnosis

This work is supportive and skill-based, not clinical therapy.

How This Differs from Group Programs

Group programs like Farm Club or camps are often the best starting point.

1:1 coaching is recommended when:

  • group settings feel overwhelming
  • individualized pacing is needed
  • specific skills or comfort levels need support first

This option is offered intentionally and in limited capacity.

Scheduling & Inquiries

1:1 Farm-Based Coaching is available on a limited basis for kids and teens ages 18 and under.

Sessions begin with a short inquiry to ensure a good fit.

Is This a Good Fit?

1:1 coaching works best for kids who can:

  • participate safely on a working farm
  • engage respectfully with animals
  • benefit from individualized support

If you’re unsure, we’re happy to talk it through.
